During the celebration, the Administrator of FODECC, Samuel Donatien NENGUE, called on the staff to mobilize for a more serene, united and healthy world of work.
The Labour Day was celebrated on May 1, 2021 throughout the national territory under the theme: « The world of work and the Covid-19 pandemic: guaranteeing the health of workers, a major challenge in preserving the achievements of companies ». In the health context, the celebration of workers’ rights took place in strict compliance with the barrier measures prescribed by the Government.
The efforts made by the top management
Through their spokesperson, the staff delegates recognised the efforts made by the top management to preserve the health of CCODEF employees. And this, through the subscription by the employees to a health insurance and the implementation of all the actions intended to push back the Covid 19; whether it is about the general disinfection of the premises, the regular distribution of protection kits against the disease or the systematic screening of the personnel. This was done during a cocktail party attended by all the Fund’s workers.
The grievances relating to the well-being of the employees
The celebration was also an appropriate occasion to bring to the attention of the Administrator the grievances relating to the well-being and development of the employees, namely: the provision of the Statutes of the personnel and the internal regulations, the updating of the CCODEF’s organisation chart, the awarding of professional distinctions to those concerned, the implementation of internal promotions in the redeployment of staff, the granting of internal credits to the personnel and the regularisation of the institution’s situation with the social protection.
Promoting individual and collective discipline
The Administrator was particularly open to these grievances. He promised to provide employees with the Staff Regulations and Internal Rules, to regularise the situation with the CNPS as soon as possible, to set up a commission for promotions and reclassifications and to award professional distinctions. The Administrator nevertheless reminded the employees that the natural counterpart of rights is duties. It is therefore with a view to reminding CCODEF employees of their obligations that Samuel Donatien NENGUE mandated the staff delegates with a capital mission: that of promoting individual and collective discipline. He notably prescribed them to promote the values of the Fund by bringing all the staff to adhere to the performance dynamics that he has been promoting in the institution since 2016.
The values of the CCODEF are the four pillars. Referring to professionalism, performance, integrity and transparency (PPIT), the Director called for immediate appropriation by the staff.
